No 2 CPAP
The purpose of this site is not to bash the use of CPAP, rather, it is to present an alternative, non-surgical treatment for Obstructive Sleep Apnea for those patents who say No to CPAP because they cannot tolerate CPAP
CPAP has been the “Gold Standard” for treatment of Obstructive Sleep Apnea since the development of the first machine in 1981; however, there are many patients who simply cannot tolerate it. These patients need an Alternative to CPAP (Click Here).
Hi, I’m Dr. Joe Hair. I began working with the Sleep Physicians in Metro Atlanta in 2008 to treat patients with Obstructive Sleep Apnea. I have many patients who do well with CPAP and tell me they do not miss a night using it. I had one patient tell me that she gets her wedge pillow for her back, the other pillow under her knees, and she straps on the mask for the best night’s sleep she can remember.
If you are like her or this patient above, please keep wearing your CPAP. We do not wish to change anyone from a successful therapy. Our goal is to help people get the restful, refreshing, and reinvigorating sleep that is required to lead a happy, successful life.
However, if you are like this next patient, we are talking to you.
If you cannot (or will not) wear your CPAP, your Sleep Apnea is not being treated, and this website is for you. If you can only tolerate your CPAP for 1-2 hours per night, your Sleep Apnea is going untreated for 75-88% of your 8-hour night, and this website is for you.
Anyone with Sleep Apnea, who is not wearing his/her CPAP is going untreated, and untreated Sleep Apnea only gets worse. Untreated Sleep Apnea can result in many conditions including the following:
- High Blood Pressure
- Enlarged Heart
- Diabetes
- Reflux
- Poor Memory
- Sexual Dysfunction
- Stroke
- Heart Attack & Sudden Death
